The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it looked out to a fire involving discarded items at deep space deck of Block 14A, Toa Payoh Lorong 7 at 4.51 am.

A fire truck, a Red Rhino and 2 ambulances were sent to the scene, and officers extinguished the fire utilizing a dry powder extinguisher and compressed air foam, it said.

The authorities left about 50 locals from levels 2 to six of the block. One lady in her 60s was likewise sent to Tan Tock Seng Healthcare facility, SCDF added.

A local, who desired to be called Vigneshsuran, told Channel NewsAsia the fire likewise triggered a blackout that impacted the whole block.
