Manchester City fans showed their class moments before their Premier League trophy presentation on Sunday – and Manchester United supporters loved it.
The Citizens drew 0-0 in their final home game of the season – a result that was inconsequential on the day as Pep Guardiola\’s side had already clinched the title.
Upon the referee blowing the final whistle, elated Manchester City fans stormed the Etihad pitch to celebrate their third Premier League win in seven season.
But while the majority of fans made a beeline for the players, a group used the pitch invasion as the perfect opportunity to show support for Sir Alex Ferguson.
The legendary Manchester United boss,76, suffered a brain haemorrhage and was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery on Saturday.
Manchester United released a statement, that read: \”The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery.
\”His family request privacy in this matter.\”
The club lated added: \”We will keep Sir Alex and his loved ones in our thoughts during this time, and we are united in our wish to see him make a comfortable, speedy recovery.\”
As a show of respect, a group of Manchester City supporters – who consider Manchester United to be their bitter rivals – held up a banner reading: \”Football aside, get well Fergie.\”
And as you\’d expect, it went down really well with the Red Devils supporters.
