Amusing: Soccer, BBQ, and Trivento Wine

Thank you Trivento for sponsoring this post. Get in the game with Trivento Wine and Major League Soccer!

With the Royal Wedding done and the Met Gala having snuck by like a bedazzled thief in the night, my sporting season is officially over. Yes, my personal sports are celebrity nuptials and vapid fashion extravaganzas. You know how much natural talent it takes to walk in 6 inch heels without breaking an ankle?! I certainly can’t do it, that’s why I cheer on the professionals. Unfortunately, my family does not partake in my passion. But there is one thing we can all agree is worthy of a gathering… soccer! As Major League Soccer (MLS) rolls around, we whip out the BBQ accessories, set up our patio for viewing, and pour a glass of wine. And since Trivento is the , what better bottles to open up this season?

Whether you believe it or not, I’ll take soccer over a red carpet event any day. Why? Because it’s a chance for my whole family, both young and old, to play a bit of ball in the backyard, eat some delicious BBQ, and cheer on our favorite team while sipping some great wine. There’s literally something for everyone. I love these moments so much, that I go all-out by turning my patio into an outdoor living room. If you don’t have a full outdoor furniture set (like me!), then I have one simple solution. Bring your indoor furniture out! That’s exactly what I did for this family party. I brought my TV, console, and even my coffee table to the patio to make it perfect for soccer viewing. Besides a ball and some meat for grilling, all that is left is the wine. Trivento offers two great options for such a gathering: Trivento Malbec Reserve and Trivento White Orchid Torrontes.

I suggest setting out bottles and glasses for family to help themselves. But if you need to offer up some wine knowledge, then here’s some info to wet your whistle. Trivento White Orchid is made of Torrontes and Pinot Grigio grapes that are hand-harvested from Trivento’s vineyards in Argentina. With a lightly sweet palette and aromas of flowers, pineapple, chamomile, and white pepper, it is a great wine to sip on a summertime patio.

Once the BBQ is ready, I suggest pouring a glass of Trivento Malbec Reserve. With smooth tannins and hints of strawberries and cherries, it is a great compliment to a grilled meal.

All that is left is an engaging game of backyard soccer with the kids and a rousing game of MLS with the family. Make sure to pick up a few bottles of Trivento for your next gathering and check out the . Our family is partial to a certain West Coast celestial team, if you catch my drift… but who are you rooting for this season?
